Monitor construction information
2:52PM August 17, 2020
Did you miss the Monitor virtual community night held on August 6? Here's a link to the video recording of the meeting. The presentation is about 15 minutes, followed by a brief Q&A session.
The 2020 Monitor build is broken up into 11 smaller zones that represent geographic boundaries such as neighborhoods. Construction has started in the following zones - Mainline North, McCarty Lane & 500, Foxwood, and Hawthorne Lakes. Staking and locates will commence this week in Sulhamstead/Cedar Ridge Estates and Wildcat Valley. Visit the zone page for a map of the Monitor build area. View the complete fiber construction process here.
We estimate completing construction and starting drops (the connection from the road to the outside of your home) in late December for the majority of Monitor zones. Please remember, timelines provided are best estimates and subject to weather, construction permitting, and other unforeseen circumstances.
As a general guideline, it can take 6 to 10 weeks for in-home installations to occur once a zone becomes in-service. This includes scheduling and conducting the initial site visit, drop construction, and scheduling and completing the installation appointment. Drop timelines and installation timelines depend on several factors, including how many orders are in the queue and how many zones become in-service at once. Rest assured, we do everything possible to make this process efficient.

Our fiber network offers internet speeds up to 1 Gigabit per second (1,000 Mbps) which allow you to work from home, attend virtual classes, stream videos, play games online and download and upload - on multiple devices - with ease and reliability. Wintek powered by Tipmont offers dependable service from a company you can trust. Wintek fiber internet speeds are symmetrical - meaning our upload and download speeds are the same. Most other internet providers limit your upload speed. This matters when it comes to gaming, video chatting, working from home, and online learning.

Advantages of pre-ordering service
You may place a pre-order for Wintek fiber internet service while your zone is still in the construction phase. Pre-orders allow us to complete the initial site visit and prepare your drop construction plan while mainline construction is taking place, lessening your total wait time once your zone becomes in-service. On rare occasions, we may complete the drop construction, the process of bringing the fiber from the road to your home, before your zone becomes in-service. In this case, once your zone becomes in-service, your wait time for in-home installation is lessened to approximately three to six weeks.
As mentioned above, on rare occasions, we may complete your drop construction and attach the Network Interface Device (NID) to your home before mainline construction is complete. During this time, we are still constructing the underground and aerial fiber lines needed to bring fiber to your neighborhood. There is nothing you need to do. Once your zone becomes in-service, our member service team will contact you to schedule your in-home installation.
